ENERGY STAR® is a voluntary program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that helps businesses save money and protect the environment through the use of energy-efficient products and practices. Properties use an online tracking tool provided by the EPA to measure the efficiency of automated energy management systems and lighting standards, among other initiatives. A property must score 75 points or higher to be eligible to apply for the ENERGY STAR program.
